So, in looking at the three gifts: the gift of life, the gift of death, and the gift of repentance, I think they represent three joys! Each is crucial to our salvation. Each is crucial to our very joy in eternity. Our Christ brought each of these gifts to us, and through us, and for us. He is our salvation. He gives us the gift of life, not only by creating this world, but by being our great mediator between the Father and ourselves.
He gives us the gift of death; by taking its awfulness and changing the laws of science into the laws of life. He gives us the passage back to life. He gave his own life. He understands death well. He gives us the gift of repentance. King Benjamin when he was giving one of his last talks stated “Consider the happy state of those who keep the commandments!” (Mosiah 2: 41)
I know that if I keep trying; doing the very best I can; and learning from my mistakes; I can take my mistakes to him, put them on his altar and I will return home with great joy. Wouldn’t that be a happy day?
I guess there would be one last great gift I would like to receive! It would be the gift of seeing HIM, my beloved Redeemer. I want to touch his hand and tell him, thank you! I want to tell him thank you with my eyes looking into his! He is the Christ. He is in charge and the world needs to heed his call. He will not disappoint us, and we need to be ready and have the ability to go and do what ever he needs. This is HIS world. We are HIS. O Happy Day!
